Week one of NaNo is done! Writing prompts and a cheer!

We are one week, 7 days, 168 hours, 10080 minutes in, and hopefully you have thrown down a ton of word count.  Yeah!  To be on track you should have 11,667 words.  If you are there or past it congratulations!  If you are like so many other NaNono-ers you may be falling behind.  Don’t worry there is still plenty of time to catch up.

To help you I offer a couple writer prompts.

Color as an emotion–  An earth green, deep and full of potential.  What you do with it is yours to decide but make it great!

A scene- bad things always happen in threes.  After the second one your main character is worried about whats coming next.  You know what it is, now tell your future readers!

An animal!  This is a bird of paradise.  It might be the strangest bird I have ever seen.  Looking for a new creature for your novel, draw inspiration from it.  Do you like the fan on it? use it as a prop in your story.  That wispy tail is kind of neat.  It almost looks like hair.  How would you describe it?

Some people say that eyes are the windows to the soul.  The soul is full of many beautiful colors.  Dig deeper into your characters psyche. Describe some ones eyes at length.  Let it fuel your story with rich details.

An old oak tree in a barren land.  A meeting place for your characters?  An image that describes what happened to the world?  Do with it what you want!

Write dangerously and without regrets because you never know what you will come up with!
