About Elizabeth Sogard

I am living my happily ever after with my high school sweet heart, two jobs, three kids, and a dog that makes Hollywood’s version of zombies seem intelligent.

While I have lived in many locations, Minnesota is my home.  Yes, we really do have 10,000 lakes, fish year round and while we do have four seasons, winter can last up to six months. I have tried to milk a cow but let’s just say that is an adventure I will not  repeat any time soon- the same thing can be said about lutefisk…

When I was in second grade I wrote a story called “Golden Birthday Big Surprise”.  By the time it was finished my namesake had broken her arm and had to deal with the crippling effects of thinking that everyone forgot her birthday.  It was supposed to be a hint to my parents that I wanted a big party but apparently the story was lacking in that magical something that would compel them into action.  I endeavor to never make that mistake again.

While I was growing up, every essay, book report and school project was a chance from me to hone my skills and get feedback from a captive audience.  In college I took every writing course available to me and excelled.  Real life got away for a while and most of my ramblings were written between diaper changing, playing with my three little ones and falling in love over and over again with my high school sweet heart.

Now, I am focused on building my career, finding a home for my novels and living my dream.  Writing is something that I do with confidence and passion.  With a little bit of luck and a lot of tenacity I will reach every one of my goals and it is my hope that any who visit this site or reads my books will find that within themselves.

Completed novels

Undead Dead Girl-

The murder that claimed the life of seventeen-year-old Juliana Lewis was a chance for her to get away from her dysfunctional family, failing grades, and the detention she earned the day before.  All it cost her was her humanity.

Zombies – or the Esserci, as they prefer to be called – are misunderstood by the Hollywood elite and general public.  Samantha doesn’t know what she thinks of zombies, only that she needs to figure out a way to fit in. Mindless zombies would be easy prey compared to the thoughtful and well organized Esserci with their strange abilities, excessive strength and the potential for a limitless Army.

The Esserci’s greatest weakness hangs on the ability to keep their existence a secret and Juliana suspects that her best friend Leah may have figured it out… and so do the Esserci.  In order to save Leah from a fate similar to her own, Juliana must team up with the person who killed her and risk leaving behind David – the one person who truly understands her.

Dream Walker-

My name is Suri and for the last five years all I wanted was a dreamless sleep.

Each night when I fall asleep I am surrounded by an unending vein of doors.  Each door holds the dreams of someone I know, and each time I open one, I have no idea what I awaits me.  Out here I feel safe, but it is lonely.

When I choose a new door, I’m pulled into Taylor’s dreams. The quiet boy from my algebra class isn’t fantasizing about his latest crush, or scoring the impossible touchdown. This dream isn’t about Taylor. We’re on my street, in front of my house, watching as an unmarked van skids to a halt in my driveway. Three men burst through the front door and drag me out screaming. As I watch my abduction next to him, Taylor does something I never expected. No one has ever been able to see me in one of their dreams, but Taylor is different. He turns to me – the real me – and tells me to run.

Shocked back to consciousness by Taylor’s words, my heart is pounding in my ears. That doesn’t drown out the sound of heavy tires pulling into the driveway. With the slam of a van door, Taylor’s dreamscape has become my reality.
